– Fish come in 6 different sizes (see link below)

– Some rare fish spawn in certain locations (The sturgeon spawns at the mouth of a river. Also try looking on top of cliffs, at waterfalls, and at the end of docks!)
– Craft a flimsy rod using 5 tree branches, and try upgrading it to a normal rod with 1 iron nugget (get the better recipe by using nook miles at the terminal!)
– Try using a clam to craft fish bait, which spawns in a fish wherever you use it
– Always scare off all the smaller fish if you’re going for larger and more valuable ones!
– Remember to have lots of backup fishing rods for convenience, so you can quickly switch to a new one if yours breaks
– Keep in mind that fishing in Animal Crossing New Horizons is a great way to earn bells early on in the game!
