Catching Some PANFISH & TROUT for DINNER…!!! (TROUT TRIFECTA)

Equipment
2022 EP15: In this EPF video, I go to the mighty Pennypack Creek in Philadelphia, PA, to harvest some PANFISH & TROUT for my parents. 😁

[April 30th, 2022 (Fishing Session Number 41)]

Read more about it below:

Did you know that…?

🍲…The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission only stocks the Pennypack Creek with two different species of Trout — mainly the Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and the Brown Trout (Salmo trutta). All Brook Trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) and Tiger Trout (S. fontinalis X S. trutta) are stocked by local private organizations. The Creek itself no longer has native or wild Trout.
🍲…The Redbreast Sunfish (Lepomis auritus) and Rock Bass (Ambloplites rupestris) fall within the “mix bag” category for fish creel and limits in PA. Thus, technically speaking, an angler could harvest 50 Redbreast or Rock Bass in one day!!! Bottom line: make sure to always practice Selective Harvest when taking some fish back home; remember — “don’t catch your limit, limit your catch.” The exception for that rule would be invasive species of fish, obviously.
🍲…The “Sunfishes” (Centrarchidae) are highly undervalued in the overall American culture. When harvested from CLEAN SOURCES, they are actually highly nutritious and delicious. If you haven’t had them yet, EPF highly recommends!!!
