Planning on getting into fly fishing? Consider starting out by asking people who do the fishing you’d like to do what they would recommend. A good general fly fishing rod is an 8.5 foot, 5 weight, fly rod and reel combination. There are three general types of fly line, but floating fly line is a good place for beginners to start. Pick up some dry flies, tie one on the end of your leader and you’ll be well on your way to becoming a fly angler.
