Is there a fly fishing fly that catches fish 100 percent of the time you tie it on? In our experience, fly selection comes down to day by day river conditions and bug activity. Our job as the fly angler is to analyze what is happening on the river, make our best guess, choose a fly out of our fly box, and see if it works… if it does, great!… if not, we repeat the process and try again. Eventually, we’ll find a fly that catches fish a.k.a. today’s magic fly!
