The 2021 Full Quabbin Season Documentary Movie

The 2021 season was my first time exclusively fishing only the Quabbin Reservoir throughout my entire season, never straying elsewhere, in order to force myself to learn the lake’s seasons better, particularly Summer & Fall. Between the opener to closing day the Q took up all my free time. I logged in over 37 trips. I hit it hard and in doing so complicated things when I got rid of my old boat (a basic rig) I was accustomed to and replaced it with a brand new boat, rigged with all the latest & greatest electronics. Very challenging season with lots of big learning curves and mistakes but I learned allot and still managed some nice fish. Which surprisingly included 11 MA State Bronze Pins for 5 different Q species and 1 Gold Pin & Plaque. The states Freshwater Fishing Awards Minimum Weight(s) and Length(s) is what I use as a gage to dictate quality & trophy fish. While I had a blast last season and isn’t that the whole point of doing what we do, I still have allot more to learn (especially with the electronics).

Due to fishing all Q’s 2021 seasons, even with sometimes forgetting to turn on the camera, malfunctions or days I forgot to charge dead batteries, by the end of the season I still managed to capture much more content than usual. Turning what is normally an anticipated annual mashup video journal (hence the time length) to a movie documentary. I was going to break the movie up into a video (parts) series but then I thought there is a pause button for a reason and folks can always return here to finish watching at their convenience.

Fishing tactics & methods deployed included all sorts of artificial lures, fly’s & live bait. From working the foot pedal, pounding shoreline to trolling & everything in-between, targeting everything.

The Quabbin Reservoir is the largest lake in Massachusetts.
For boating anglers it is the states Premier fishery.
It is only 1 of 2 lakes within the state that contains Landlocked Atlantic Salmon & Lake Trout & is the only 1 of the 2 you can boat fish from. There is also an amazing trophy smallmouth fishery here. The Q is located in central Massachusetts.
