Get Out and Play Day fishing event in Eureka was put on by Eureka Community Services, Sequoia Park and California Department of Fish and Wildlife. #GOPD2024 included a trout planting from CDFW’s Mad River Hatchery into the duck pond in Sequoia Park in Eureka. 500 trout were planted the day before the event. Families were able to harvest five trout from 10am to 2pm during a city wide Get Out and Play Day as this event was just one of many activities going on in Eureka throughout the day.
