Murray cod trout cod bait fishing tips tricks and techniques

Tips And Tricks
This is a video from the robbiefishing archives. I filmed this last season, close to 18 months ago and for some reason never used the footage. The cod fishing was unreal this day. We caught a stack of trout cod and then a couple of late Murray cod all bait fishing in the Ovens River in Wangaratta.
The bait we were using was cheese and worms. Some people say that you should not use cheese for bait, but I think this is rubbish. Some people believe that if you do not wet your hands that the fish will die, this is also rubbish. Not wetting your hands can certainly have negative implications for the fish. It is like weakening their immune system however it does not automatically mean that they will die. Where possible, you should always wet your hands when handling fish.
Murray cod and trout cod are both amazing Australian native fish. They are both extremely aggressive yet very shy at the same time., Trout cod are totally protected and Murray cod are subject to tight size limits, bag limits and closed seasons.
