Mayfly Magic: Chalkstream Fly Fishing for Trout During Duffers’ Fortnight

Tips For Beginners
Hi everyone! So, as promised, I’m back. As you might have heard me say in the recent update video, it’s been a hectic 18 months or so with launching my own business and focusing on my little girl Morwenna, but I’m very much back in the saddle now!

Anyway, I’m really excited about getting some new stuff up on the channel – this is the first in a series of longer videos.

In this one, myself and Rory from Anglers Only got to spend an afternoon fly fishing for trout on a beautiful stretch of the River Kennet just outside Newbury. It was prime mayfly season, aka Duffers’ Fortnight, the sun was shining and the trout were hungry. As far as fly fishing goes, this was pretty much the perfect set-up. So the question was, could we make the most of the conditions?

As for my new business, well, it’s been exciting. I won’t go into too much detail here, but basically I’ve started up a new company called Watercraft Creative, alongside Rory who you see in this video. We’ll be making videos for companies in the marine and fishing space, and maybe even more beyond that in the future. Plus of course, I’ll be doing my usual presenting work for BoatLife, so you can expect to see plenty more of me on their channel in the coming months!
