In early spring, when the water is still cold and muddy, can be a great time to fish for sucker fish. In upcoming videos we will be targeting shorthead redhorse suckers, white sucker, and northern hognose suckers. In this video, I go over some of the tricks we’ve learned to help locate and catch more suckers, lose fewer rigs, and unhook the fish easier. The video includes the hooks, rigs and line we like to use, as well as the bait and the spots on the river to target and avoid in order to catch the most suckers with the least amount of effort.
