Crankbaits have long been one of the best lures to catch bass. With that being said catching bass on crankbaits isn’t as east as it used to be.

One thing that I love to do when I am fishing a crankbait is vary my retrieve. Sometimes this means making my crankbait stop and go. Sometimes I will snap my crankbait hard off of grass and cover, anything I can do to increase my chances of producing a reaction strike.

Crankbaits now come in models that rattle and ones that don’t. In most cases I actually prefer silent crankbaits but there are 3 scenarios where I will go with the rattling crankbait.
